CEU Press was established in 1993. Reflecting the intellectual strengths and values of its parent institution, the press publishes books on the political philosophy and practices of open society, history, Jewish studies, economics, medieval studies, literature, legal studies, nationalism, human rights, international relations, higher education policy, gender studies, media studies, and art history.
CEU Press aims to build upon its established reputation as a publisher in these fields and expand its list as resources and opportunities allow. The Press will be responsive to authors seeking to place high-quality manuscripts but will also take initiatives in commissioning individual books and series. This remit includes research monographs and other specialist texts, the publication of archive material (particularly relating to Central and Eastern Europe in the modern/contemporary period) and also books of high quality destined for a more general readership.
Central European University Press is pleased to distribute the books of these and other publishers and organizations around the world:
