About the Authors

OLIVER EGGER (Middletown, CT) is a Wesleyan student in the class of 2023 who founded the Route 9 Literary Collective: a community of literature from both Wesleyan and the broader community. In addition to this book, Oliver is the editor-in-chief of the literary magazine "The Lavender." His own poetry can be found in Moonstone Press, Oyster River Pages, The California Quarterly, and more.

"Both raw and tender, these poems are intimate and innovative. They mirror the social complexities and injuries of our time with honesty, courage, and compassion. Bravo!"—Margaret Gibson, Poet Laureate of the State of Connecticut, 2019-2022

"How wonderful to see the creative work of Wesleyan students, faculty, alumni and other Middlesex county residents gathered together in this anthology! Reading it is an enlivening experience, reminding me of the vital energy of this dynamic community. Keep it close!"—Michael Roth, President, Wesleyan University

"A fine collection of poetry representing the love, the pain, and convolution of ideas our times have begotten, filling minds with wonder, setting imagination to flight."—Anne-Marie Cannata McEwen, Executive Director, The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts Center

"The Route 9 Anthology is a poignant tribute to the people of Middletown and the Connecticut River Valley. Oliver Egger and his authors have done a great job tying together Wesleyan University and surrounding communities."—Matt Lesser, Connecticut State Senator
